The Magic of Cruising Disney

Whether it is an unexpected outcome, or something that stirs a fond memory of days gone by, or the simple pleasure of seeing a face of a child light up – Disney knows how to do it!

I was finally fortunate enough to sail on Disney’s newest ship, the Fantasy. I have visited Disney World and Disneyland several times and have consistently been “wow’d” at the great lengths they take to care for their guests. The short experience on the Fantasy (and all the Disney ships), just adds to the ways we can take advantage of Disney’s hospitality and most importantly, Disney’s magic!

There is detail in everything they do. I am not quite sure if Disney anticipates the needs of all their guests, or if they simply consider the needs of children which, in turn brings out the young-at-heart is all of us. It certainly worked for me.

I left the beautiful Fantasy with a heart filled with magic.

Some neat Disney Cruise Line touches:

If you’ve cruised before, you know how everyone gaucks at your pictures taken by the ship photographers. With Disney Cruise Line, you are assigned a folder and your photos are carefully tucked in the folder that only you know is yours, and placed neatly on shelves. This not only maintains your privacy, but also gives the look and feel of a tidy library.

The inside cabins with Disney are incredible! They are quite roomy – roomier than an average inside cabin with other cruise lines – plus, there is a live feed window from the outside of the ship. What this means is that your screen (which plays as the “window” in your cabin) accurately indicates what it’s like outside. Periodically, there are Disney Characters prancing around on the screen as well.

Many, if not most, of the cabins have a separate room for the toilet and a sink and a separate room for the shower/tub and sink. That is quite handy for families!

In the daily activities newsletter delivered to your cabin nightly, there is a section for “Character Appearances” indicating where and when you can find your favorite Disney Characters. Typically ship photographers are present, although the crew is more than happy to take a photo with your personal camera as well!
